Jan Jaluvka - An RCM Certified Teacher

Jan Jaluvka spent his formative years studying piano with local piano teachers in Niagara Falls, Ontario. He later continued his piano studies at an advanced level at The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto spending several years studying piano performance with the noted piano teacher and scholar, Boyanna Toyich.

Jan has earned the designation of RCM Certified Teacher from The Royal Conservatory of Music as an Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced Piano Specialist.

Jan holds post-secondary degrees from The University of Toronto and Osgoode Hall Law School. He has kept up to date with his professional development by attending various music pedagogy seminars and master classes in both in Canada and abroad.

Jan’s great love and passion for music led him into a wide range of musical pursuits. These include composition of pieces for piano, orchestra and band and serving as pianist, organist and vocal soloist with churches in Niagara Falls.

The idea to create Jaluvka Piano School first developed from Jan’s desire to teach piano to his own daughter, Tatjana Jaluvka, whom he started teaching in 1999 and who recently graduated with honours from The University of Toronto Faculty of Music with a Bachelor of Music Degree.

Tatjana Jaluvka has been a successful music theory instructor for several years. Tatjana teaches music theory with us concentrating on Levels 1 to 8 of the RCM theory curriculum.
